Please find the invitation letter for the 2016 UIPM Laser Run World Championships.
As you can see, there are 3 divisions that can suit all of the people in and around the sport in your country:

  • Elite Division: for the athletes already competing in UIPM competitions (that means who have a UIPM Licence ID Number)
    • All age groups
    • Will be registered by you on the NF Portal
  • Open Division: for people not competing in UIPM Competitions (that means they don’t have a UIPM Licence ID Number, for example they come from the Athletics Federation)
    • 5 different races according to age groups
    • Will have to register on the UIPM website www.pentathlon.org where a link on the top of the page will be ready Tuesday 14 June 2016
  • Laser Run for All: for anyone wanting to compete for fun and try Laser Shooting
    • All together running on shorter distances
    • Will have to register on the UIPM website www.pentathlon.org where a link on the top of the page will be ready Tuesday 14 June 2016

Dear Member Federations,

As you all have been informed about 2nd edition of UIPM Laser Run World Championships, which will happen on Sep3-4 2016 in Lisbon, Portugal, recently, the hosting NF Portuguese MP Federation has provided us some more details,  and we hope to share with you at earlier stage to facilitate your preparation to participate.

-          The Competition

  • Divisions:
    • Elite Division - for all National teams registered through each of your NF portals for all age groups.
    • Open Division -  open for all types of athletes with different sports background who doesn’t represent the NF but register directly through open link at UIPM website individually.
    • Laser Run for All -  for friends, families of participants, for anyone who wants to enjoy the Laser Run experience but competing in a shorter distances at lower athletic level, it is a division for fun and for public.

-          The Venue

  • The competition will occur at the Parque das Naçoes, you can find a panorama picture in attachment, you can see that the venue is great and weather is nice at early September

-          Accommodation

  • Several more detailed packages will be announced soon later with the best rate LOC can provide, 3 solutions is proposed so far:
    • Premium - 4**** Hotel
    • Sport - Youth Hostal (should be 55€ / day / person – breakfast and dinner included)
    • The NF chose itself its Hotel in the area
  • The LOC is still negotiating with hotels which are walking distance away from the venue

-          Transportation

  • Transportation will be offered to NFs who take the LOC packages
  • Venue is with walking distance from metro, which is well working in Lisbon

-          Others

  • There will be an Opening Ceremony and Closing Party
  • LOC is working on the Cultural programs as the city has full of cultural and historical areas
  • A welcome pack will be offered to all participants

Excitement, accessible, friendship, competitive and fun for everyone is how Laser Run started, it suits for all age groups, all regions and it is a sport from grass roots to elite.
