To be eligible to participate in the Youth Olympic Games, athletes must have been born between 1 January 2000 and 31 December 2003.

To be eligible to participate in the Youth Olympic Games, athletes must have been born between 1 January 2001 and 31 December 2003.
FIE:n tiedote 13.4.2017:
The Organising Committee asked for the dates to be changed, and this was accepted by the IOC after consultation with the various parties concerned. The YOG will therefore take place between 6 and 18 October 2018. The fencing events will be held between 7 and 10 October 2018.
